Patient Participation Group

Elmwood Family Doctors has an active patient participation group (PPG), comprising a group of enthusiastic volunteers who are instrumental in suggesting new ideas and initiatives to enhance the experience of all patients visiting and utilising the practice and its services.

The PPG meets in the evenings between 19:00 – 20:00, usually four times each year, and they are attended by a member of the practice’s senior management team as well as one of the GP Partners.

If you are interested in becoming involved and wish to apply to join the PPG, please call the surgery on 01484 943000 and ask to speak to Graham Brown Operations Manager, or provide your contact details to one of the reception team manning our reception desks at Holmfirth or Meltham.

The only membership criteria is that you must be a current patient of Elmwood Family Doctors and that you are prepared to abide by the PPGs Terms of Reference. As a practice, we greatly value the feedback and suggestions provided by our PPG members – positive outcomes have recently included the acquisition of a set of disabled weighing scales that are now based at our Meltham Village Surgery branch site. These are accessible to patients of all the surgeries within The Valley’s Primary Care Network (PCN) and were a direct result of a suggestion by one of our PPG members.
